ABOUT MATTHEW BUTTERFIELD Matthew Butterfield is a British photographer and creative designer based just outside London in Richmond, Surrey, UK. His passion for visual arts developed early when at the age of 6, Matthew bought his first 110 cartridge camera and began capturing images. As a full-time artist, he now works in a variety of media including photography (35mm, medium format, digital and Polaroid), graphic and web design, and three dimensional installation work. A graduate of Richmond, The American International University in London, Matthew earned a First Class Degree (BA Honours) in Art, Design & Media and was also awarded the "Outstanding Graduate" award in this area of study. Further to his undergraduate training, Matthew has a Master of Arts (MA) Degree in Art History from the same institution. His dissertation relates to a series of London Underground Posters advertising leisure travel to the countryside between 1908 and 1912. Matthew's work has achieved a high level of success and his photography is gallery represented. Matthew's 2006 installation piece, a sculpture titled 'Unsolicited' was selected for the City of London Festival. This was displayed in St. Paul's Cathedral alongside the work of Yoko Ono. |
